Private Coaching: By Appointment. Call 212-695-9101

There is an enormous amount of professional actors vying for each role, and commonly prepared auditions simply are no match for presentations that are expertly coached and securely executed.

Regardless of what some acting teachers may say, TV and Film scripts are not the same as theatre scripts. Each require a different set of choices unique to that venue. Actors who struggle to convey the story in a certain venue are not likely to be cast in the role.

Our coaching sessions prepare actors to "pop" at the first moment and remain confidently connected throughout the entire read.

Rate:

  • (Singular Session) $65/hour

  • (Set of Four Sessions) $220 - Good for 6 months

Meisner Scene Study

Most techniques teach actors how to analyze a scene. This technique teaches actors how to "live" the part.

In a business as unpredictable as this, the one element an actor can rely on is their ability to act. This Intensive provides the actor with a solid foundation for all medium: from TV to live Theatre; utilizing imagination rather than recall to tell the story.

Perfect for actors of all levels, many directors, writers and producers prefer to work with Meisner trained actors because they know the actor has the tools to deliver results in a brief amount of time.

We are accepting a small group of selected students to address each actor’s individual acting challenge. The first 8 weeks utilize Meisner exercises to train the actor to work off of others and live in the moment. The final 4 weeks is for scene work only; applying the Meisner technique to the written text with a specific focus on bringing the scene to life within the context of the audition process.

Sanford Meisner is one of the charter members of the Group Theatre who set out to create his own "Method" of training actors. Today, the Meisner technique is widely used & much preferred by actors who must bring the text to life quickly and fully. Notable students include: James Caan, Steve McQueen, Robert Duvall, Gregory Peck, Bob Fosse, Diane Keaton, Jon Voight, Jeff Goldblum, Grace Kelly, Tony Randall and Sydney Pollack.
